Just south of glorious and popular Colorado Springs lies a sweet little town called Fountain. Many military family and personnel reside in Fountain, which closely hugs the large Army base Fort Carson.
My family and I moved to this area nearly a year ago. As a mom of a toddler boy, I was eager to explore my new town and find all the fun activities and sights for us to see. Unfortunately, I had a very hard time finding good information on the internet about Fountain. You'll find a plethora of information about Colorado Springs of course, and I'd highly encourage newcomers to check out places such as the Garden of the Gods and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
But this blog is for Fountain and the surprising amount of delights it holds. I decided to share our experiences, along with details and pictures, as a way to reach out to other newcomers in the area. Maybe you just transferred here with the Army and your family is looking for fun things to do with the kids. I hope this blog helps you!
Just this past week, my son and I were at a park and we met a young military couple with two small children who had just moved here from Kansas. They peppered me with questions that I was more than happy to answer. Later, I had to laugh because I still consider myself a newcomer after living here for less than a year! :)
I am the kind of mom who explores and likes to check out as many fun and interesting things as I can. So I have discovered a lot and I'm excited to share it with you.
Welcome to Fountain! This is a wonderful place to live.
